In part one of our miniseries “Maintaining your Blog,” we will discuss the advantages of creating a blog writing schedule in order to increase your search engine rankings.
It is very easy to start blogging but often very difficult to maintain your blogging on a regular basis. It is very similar to a gym membership in many ways because when you first sign up to the gym you are going everyday, and then you miss a day, and then you miss a week, and before you know it you haven’t been to the gym in 3 months. This unfortunately, is what happens with many blogs. They come and go in spurts and search engines have trouble recognizing their behavior.
How Search Engines Work
Search engines use advanced algorithms to identify and rank our websites and blogs. They are always changing and adapting to new search behavior, which leaves everyone guessing how best to optimize their websites.
What We Know
Social networking sites and blogs are the fastest growing online medium and search engines have publicly stated that they plan on making these mediums more relevant in search results.
How can we take advantage of this?
By blogging regularly we actively notify search engines that yes we are active and yes we will consistently provide you with new and unique content.
Search engines main goal is to satisfy the person using them and if you are providing relevant information on a consistent basis, they will turn to you to help provide an answer to the person searching.
Optimum Blogging Schedule
We have found that if you blog consistently every three to four days using targeted keywords and links. You will find that search engines are referencing you more and more as they begin to rely on your blog as a source of valuable information.
Part Two coming soon!
Of course if you find you are unable to blog on a consistent basis you may want to consider a blog writing service : ).
